Explore England

England

England, My first country in Europe! Located in northwestern Europe, it shares borders with Scotland to the north and Wales to the west, while the English Channel lies to the south. England is celebrated for its historical significance, with landmarks like Stonehenge and the Tower of London bearing witness to centuries of human civilization. From the quiet storybook countryside of Bath to London herself, England is full of history and adventure.

Here is my complete guide on what England has to offer!

All you need to know:

Language:

English is the main language. You may encounter some Irish and some Welch as those are the neighboring countries.

Transportation:

England has lots of reliable and efficient public transportation including the London Tube, bus routes, and cross-country train routes. Taxis, Ubers, and Rideshares are also options.

Best time to Visit:

The Best times to visit England are spring (late March to early June) and fall (September to November) due to the weather and the changing season. England has a very strong winter but is cheaper to visit during the off-seasons.

Plugs:

In England, they use plug type G, which is the plug that has three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern. England operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

Currency:

The primary Currency is Pound sterling however sometimes Euro is also used.

1 Pound Sterling is Equal to 1.25 USD. However this is always changing.

Safety:

England, like many developed countries, is generally considered safe for tourists and residents alike. It has a well-established infrastructure and a low crime rate compared to many other countries. However, safety can vary depending on where you are within England and the circumstances.

Cash or Card:

Just about everywhere takes cards in the big cities but make sure to carry cash just in case.

What kind of bag should you bring:

You can bring your roll-y bags but I wouldn’t absolutely recommend it. The cities are walkable for the most part, in some cities, there are cobblestone paths which make it more difficult to roll bags on. In some subway stations you might have to carry your bag up some stairs but nothing crazy.

The most Luxurious Afternoon tea in the city. Located right across the street from the iconic Hyde park; this Hotels tea Service is a MUST when visiting.
