There are hundreds of dialects throughout India. The Main language is Hindi with about 43.63% of the total population speaking it. It is followed by Bengali and Marathi as the secondary and third languages. English is also technically the second national language so most signs in the big cities also have English written underneath or next to the Hindi version.

Transportation:

India is not very walkable. The streets have relatively no driving laws and are difficult to navigate. You can hire a car, take a tuk-tuk, or a public bus.

Currency:

The Indian Currency Is INR; Indian Rupees. 1 United States Dollar equals 82.90 Indian Rupees, However this is always changing.

Safety:

Safety in India, especially for tourists and women, can vary widely depending on several factors, including the region you visit, your behavior, and the precautions you take. India is generally a safe destination for tourists, and millions visit the country each year without any issues. Some areas, especially popular tourist destinations, tend to be safer due to a higher police presence and more tourist-friendly infrastructure. To avoid conflict It’s advisable to dress modestly, especially in conservative areas, and to be respectful of local customs and traditions. Avoid displaying expensive items like jewelry and electronics, which can attract unwanted attention.

Cash or Card:

Most places you visit will be cash only; Including markets, restaurants, shops, monuments, and bathrooms. You will come across the occasional place that does take cards but cash is much more useful and a lot safer.
