Everything You Need to Know About the Marriott Maui Ocean Club

As we know Maui is packed with big name resorts, all fighting for the title of ‘best beachfront getaway’. Right next the the historic Whalers Village is Marriot’s Maui Ocean Club – our honeymoon resort. Would I say this is the most romantic, adults only get away for honeymooners? No. But for family trips, vacations and for people who don’t mind kids around, its a great resort option on the west side.

Accommodations:

The rooms themselves where up up traditional Marriot standard; clean, simple and practical. If you are looking for an overly decorated, themed room you won’t find it here. However we didn’t spend too much time inside so the simplicity was appreciated.

We had a two bedroom Ocean View Villa. The first room featured a living room space, a kitchenette, a full bathroom, and a balcony. Meanwhile the adjacent room featured the Kingsize bed, another balcony and another full bathroom. Everything was well stocked and they came to clean the room twice during our week long stay.

Amenities:

This resort is massive, it featured 3 pools each with at least one Jacuzzi attached.

Their main featured pool is a 3.5-acre “super‑pool” complex featuring waterfalls, grottos, stunning landscaping a waterslide, whirlpool spas, and a children’s pool with a pirate‑ship water playground. All of the lounge chairs are complementary and so are towels at all pools

In the center of this pool hold the Lokelani Pool Bar which serves Alcoholic drinks, Mocktails and some appetizers. Next to the beach on the side of the pool is a full service

Starbucks, Shaved ice and Gelato Stand, and Beach Walk Kau Kau To Go a Grab‑and‑go style market with sandwiches, snacks, and pizzas. On certain nights they also offer Hawaiian bbq plates.

The main restaurant on the property is Longhi’s Restaurant a full‑service Italian dinning experience on the beachfront. The menu features a variety of steaks, seafoods, and pastas, We didn’t get a chance to check it out but it does have pretty good reviews.

Breakfast from the connecting resort – The Westin

In addition to all the dining options and pools the resort also offers a fitness center equipped with cardio, strength machines, free weights, Peloton bikes, rowing, stair climbers, locker rooms, and steam rooms. I didn’t go (lol) but my husband did and loved it. They also do Scheduled yoga classes throughout the week.

There are on‑site sports courts including tennis, basketball, pickleball, shuffleboard, and a putting green.

If you’re in the mood for some extra relaxation you can visit the Spa by the Sea.

Pick from the many oceanfront treatment cabanas to pamper yourself with massages, body wraps, and scrubs.

For the more adventurous you can head to the Beach activity center to rent snorkeling, diving, kayaking, surfing, and water‑sport equipment. They also offer classes occasionally.

There is an active reef right in front of the resort which makes it easy to spot turtles, and other native wildlife!

As many of you know I love a good animal encounter and they have a resident cockatoo who makes daily appearances in the lobby – this was a big highlight for me because I absolutely adore birds.

Highlight of my trip low-key

During whale season, in the ocean front lounge, whale watching with binoculars is held in the mornings for free!

Nearby activities

As many know, the nearby western maui city of Lahaina took a devastating hit as a fire destroyed the entire city. We found that the best thing that we could do during our trip was to support the local restaurants, and business that where working hard to rebuild during this time. This included restaurants and shops.
