As a huge over-packer, my carry-on bags have been my enemy. I always stuff them to the brim with stuff I don’t need and then have no room to bring home all my goodies. In the end, I found that these 7 things are my essentials when packing my personal Items.
Medicine Bag
I get really bad motion sickness, especially during turbulence or in cars/buses so having Dramaine and Advil ready to go is super helpful. I typically also put my travel toothbrush and toothpaste in here along with my makeup remover and moisturizer so that I can feel fresh when I wake up from my airplane nap. Think of this as like your temporary mini toiletry bag for when you’re on long flights.
Foot Sling
I didn’t think this was gonna live up to the hype but it most certainly did. They are also super small and super easy to use so definitely get one if you are booking a longer flight in cheap seats. Foot slings give you different ways to sit and sleep and help make the most of those crammed airplane chairs.

Cord Case
Having one of these has made bringing my electronics so much easier. I have my charger, AirPods, and portable charger all in one case in my carry-on so that they are easy to get to and safe with me. It has a couple of different pouches to keep them from tangling all together.

Passport holder
Having a bright pink passport holder has been super helpful. I bought one that has a place for my ID and my plane ticket so everything can stay in one place. This has completely eliminated my where’s my (important document) fear.

Collapsable Water Bottle
I always need to have water on me. TSA obviously doesn’t allow liquids and regular water bottles are clunky so having a smaller collapsable one makes all the difference.
Fuzzy Socks
When I tell you these are game changers I MEAN IT. These babies are so nice, especially when you’re on long flights.
Kindle or Nook
Sometimes you don’t want to watch movies anymore. Having a Kindle or Nook is super convenient especially because they are so so small and can have hundreds of books on them.
I’ll see you
